Framed Trees

This series explores the initial experiments of using digital photos of locally shot trees, printed on canvas and then mounted onto larger ones with the use of acrylic mixed media. The black frames not only mimic the physical frames on the canvas, but act as modes of cropping the original landscape, sort of like the viewfinder of a camera. The series also was a more decorative exploration of mixed media techniques, an artwork within an artwork and are much smaller in scale, meant to hang in a series of 3 or more.
