About Karin

Karin is a high-school art teacher who began her career in 1995 teaching "l'art visuel" at Lawrence Park Collegiate in Toronto. At present she teaches senior visual arts, in both French and English, part-time in Guelph at John F Ross.

Being an art teacher requires one to be competent in a variety of media. This interest in technical explorations can be seen in the innovative mixed media approaches embraced by her and seen in her art.

The environmental themes most present in her art attempt to remind the viewer the of the importance of recognizing the beauty of the landscapes around us. The tree imagery serves to stir up memories of personal experiences in the viewer and remind him or her of the power to survive and exist despite any sense of isolation.
